Information about the museum

The Rokiškis Regional Museum is the first Lithuanian museum to be established in a manor house, an impressive 19th-century architectural ensemble whose origins date back to the late 18th century.

The Exhibition on Manor Culture invites visitors to learn more about the Tyzenhaus and Przezdziecki family lines: on display are the only Baltic collection of haute couture from the late 19th to early 20th centuries, paintings by West European artists and preserved furniture. Particularly charming is a visit to the former dining room of the counts, which fascinates with its delicate carvings and is decorated with the tableware and vases of the counts. Two children's rooms present the clothing of the young counts. In the cellar, there is an exhibition of the hunting trophies of the manor.

The Rokiškis Regional Museum is proud to exhibit the carvings of one of the most appreciated folk sculptors, Lionginas Šepka (1907–1985). The exhibition rooms feature large wooden sculptures decorated from head to toe with the most intricate ornaments.

The Rokiškis Regional Museum has two branches: the Kriaunai History Museum and the Obeliai Museum of Freedom Fight History.
